Casita Royale

An authentic pueblo-style home with over 1200 square feet of space, our largest adobe casita includes a huge living room/dining room, two bedrooms, a queen Murphy bed in the living room, one and a half baths, a full kitchen, a sun porch, a washer and dryer, two fireplaces, and plenty of firewood. This casita offers spacious, elegant southwest style.
Family Casita

The Family Casita is one of several guest wings to our old family home with a private separate entrance. This is a large elegant adobe with thick walls that keep it cool in the summer and provide old world charm. A very spacious 900 square foot studio space, it has two original fireplaces, one in the eat-in kitchen, and one in the main room. There is a beautiful hand painted king sized bed and a day bed, separated by a privacy wall.
Casita Grande

The Casita Grande is another of several guest wings of our original adobe home, with a separate entrance. It hosts two bedrooms separated by one large bathroom. The larger bedroom hosts a king-sized bed and a hotel kitchen, with a microwave, coffee and fridge. The smaller bedroom has a double bed and an original kiva fireplace. This charming casita faces grass and large oaks and has a beautiful portal to enjoy the view.
The Original Casita

Once our pool house, this was the first casita we opened seven years ago. This cozy adobe casita has everything you need to enjoy your stay, including a small but complete kitchen, a dining table, closet and bathroom. It comfortably sleeps two people, and a small sofa futon opens to sleep a third guest or child if needed.
Courtyard Casita

Originally our family library and office, the Courtyard Casita is loaded with shelves and charm - including an original kiva fireplace (and plenty of firewood), comfortable queen bed, smart TV and a small but newly renovated bathroom. It has a hotel kitchen, with a microwave, coffee and fridge. Right outside the private entrance is a quaint courtyard, surrounded by the rest of Old Llama Ranch. Sleeps two comfortably.
About The Ranch
Originally known as Rancho Las Joyas, Old Llama Ranch was built in the early 1900’s and has been in our family since 1940. It became known as the “llama ranch” because first our grandmother and then our parents raised llamas here for many years. We as children, and then later our own children, played with as many as 30 llamas who would wander the property. Sadly there aren’t any llamas still around currently, but we may bring them back with time.
The ranch was built in the classic southwestern and Santa Fe styles, complete with beautifully preserved adobe casitas, doors built in Mexico in the late 1800s, and original kiva fireplaces.
We do our best to make the ranch as modern and comfortable as possible without losing the charm. It’s country living - a bit rustic, but we think you’ll love it. And our staff is always only a phone call away.
Old Llama Ranch offers privacy and convenience. We are located in Pojoaque, 13 miles (about 20 minutes) north of Santa Fe on the 285.
We are 15 minutes to Los Alamos, and 15 minutes to Bandelier, 40 minutes to Taos and 15 minutes to El Chimayo.
We are just five minutes from Buffalo Thunder Casino and two minutes from Cities of Gold Casinos.
